    CASE STUDY: Anger Management: All Out of Rage Program
Michael had anger issues. He would often yell at his staff and had trouble maintaining relationships - including romantic ones. We examined his childhood with an intensive CORE WOUNDS session followed by a Time Line Therapy Regression and deleted an old limiting belief that he had about his self-worth. ​How Much is Anger Costing You in Your Relationships?

​Why do we HIT THE ROOF?
Generally, rage is caused by intense, overwhelming anger triggered by perceived threats such as: Injustice, extreme stress, or feelings of powerlessness and vulnerability. When someone triggers us into feeling a part of us that we deny, dislike or challenges the identity we have created for ourselves, we respond with defensiveness.

​The Anger Iceberg
Anger is a secondary emotion. Yes. Underneath anger lies the disempowered, true emotions like sadness/ grief, shame, embarrassment, guilt, fear and pain/ hurt. In order to go from powerlessness to more powerful actions, it must step up to anger.  

For example, things don’t always happen the way we want and people don’t always behave the way we think they should. Anger is the by-product of yucky feelings deep beneath. You may feel self-protective, frightened, guilty, worried, shamed or frustrated deep down, but may express these feelings as anger. Anger releases tension, but only gives relief in the short-term. 

Anger is fully dependent on our filters, internal voice and experiences. Why? Because BEFORE any emotion, comes a split second thought, or schema. Before anger comes a teeny, tiny phrase. Perhaps a micro-phrase used many times.

Basically, we are triggered by an event and our internal voice (who is childish and hates not being in control) has a filter about the event or a negative (egocentric) phrase which gives us a physiological rise (reaction). 

Men and Women Express Differently
In fact, men and women often express emotion in different ways. Often men find it harder to express or understand the feelings underneath the anger. For women the reverse may often be true – the anger gets buried through internalisation, emotional eating, ruminating, or other coping methods of expression.

Anger is useful for expressing the unexpressable, such as shame or embarassment.

Trigger Me This…
CASE STUDY: A couple fighting:
Wife puts out a bid for connection by asking for something with a tone or blaming language. "You never make time for me anymore!"

Husband’s Inner critic says, “Here we go again!” (Internal representation: She’s nagging, I’m never good enough, etc.) So we have threat, powerlessness, injustice, past experiences and unmet expectations – possibly learned behaviour from parents in their dynamic.

Interestingly, Rage/ Anger hinges on one thing: How we interpret and react to a certain situation. If the rage keeps ‘looping’ there is clearly a 'trigger wound' there that no amount of counselling (talk therapy) is going to shift.

In fact, talking about it just makes it fresh and newly labelled as a threat. It creates an identity that is rigid and it validates the injustice - making the divide, between those that oppose us, a canyon!

​Anger is self-perpetuating!


Furthermore, it is not necessary to relive the events or even remember the source of them to shift them! (#NLP)

  1. Your Core Wounds: We discuss the things that hold you back and causes reactions and problems. Your weaknesses will become your strengths.

  • Session Two: Identity Shifting (NLP Robbins' style) (Pre-Homework required)
  1. Discussing the Limiting Beliefs discovered.
  2. ​Identity shifting: The Labels: The Labels from childhood conditioning. .According to Tony Robbins, is the process of changing your self-perception to align with the goals you want to achieve​. This involves redefining who you believe you are at your core by updating limiting beliefs and embracing a new, expanded identity, rather than just trying to force yourself to achieve goals. This shift is driven by creating a new set of empowering beliefs, which then guides your decisions and actions to achieve new possibilities in your life.  We all have personality brands that hold us back, but everyone's is different. By identifying these hurtles we can decide on the cures.
  3. Homework: ​The Benefits: Sabotaging Behaviours:  What are the benefits of  sabotaging behaviours?: Methods might include Demartini Method. ​*Please note that some methods require that you are personally in session to get the best results: Walking Time Line Therapy.
